One of the important stages in a person’s life is the wedding, marriage and the beginning of family life. Like any other major event, the wedding is shrouded in various customs and traditions. Customs vary from country to country and social status of the newlyweds, but some of these traditions international. Of course, in wedding customs can not believe it, but to trace the history of their origin is quite interesting.
The exchange of rings
The custom of exchanging rings came to us from very ancient times. Even the ancient Egyptians changed rings and after this ritual became husband and wife. The ring meant a loyalty to each other for life. However, the Egyptians wore the ring on the middle finger of the right hand, so believed that there is a kind of artery of love. In some Asian countries still wear wedding rings on the middle finger.
In many countries there is a custom to beat the dishes at the wedding. This, oddly enough, original Russian custom. On the second day of the wedding beat clay pots to check the chastity of the bride. Our story begins in the land of the rising sun – Japan. There in the Imperial Palace there lived a girl-Princess, who was graceful, lively, elegant, friendly dog breed Japanese chin. In a luxurious fluffy coat of a Pekingese was irresistible, no wonder it served as the Imperial Chinese decoration of the house, because anywhere else this dog keep and breed were not allowed under penalty of death.
